Why Dulce exists

My name is Giorgio. I've lived with type 1 diabetes for years, and Dulce started as an app I built for myself.

If you live with T1D, you know the routine. You check your glucose before coffee, before driving, before sleep — dozens of times a day. Every check meant unlocking my phone, opening an app, waiting for it to load. And when my partner wanted to know I was fine, she had to text me and wait.

So one evening I started building the thing I actually wanted: the number on my lock screen without opening anything. Then it spread — to my watch face, to a widget, to an alarm that wakes me when I'm dropping at night. When my family asked to see my readings on their own phones, that became the followers feature.

I built it in Spanish first, because that's the language my diabetes lives in, and most apps treat Spanish as an afterthought.

Dulce will never tell you how much insulin to take — that's between you and your doctor. It just tries to make living with the numbers lighter. If that's what you've been missing too, I hope it helps.
