FreeStyle Libre sensor end date calculator
Work out when your FreeStyle Libre 2, 3, 2 Plus or 3 Plus sensor ends and when readings start after warm-up, from the day and time you applied it.
How long a FreeStyle Libre sensor lasts
| Sensor | Wear time |
|---|---|
| FreeStyle Libre 2 | 14 days |
| FreeStyle Libre 3 | 14 days |
| FreeStyle Libre 2 Plus | 15 days |
| FreeStyle Libre 3 Plus | 15 days |
The sensor ends at the same time of day you started it: a Libre 3 started on a Monday at 8:00 ends two weeks later, on the Monday at 8:00. The calculator above uses your phone's time zone.
The first hour: warm-up
Every sensor needs 60 minutes to warm up before it gives readings. During that hour LibreLinkUp can keep showing the last value of your previous sensor, which looks live but isn't. Dulce detects the warm-up and shows a countdown on the Lock Screen and in widgets instead of a stale number; the Lock Screen guide shows where.
When readings stop early
A sensor can stop before its end date: it came loose, got knocked, or the Libre app reports a sensor error. If readings stop but the sensor isn't due yet, first check that new readings reach LibreLinkUp at all with the LibreLinkUp troubleshooting guide, then follow Abbott's instructions for a replacement.
See days left in Dulce
Dulce shows how many days your current sensor has left on the home screen, so you don't need to count.
